Take a Breath

Maybe you have had a similar dream like me before, or you might be able to identify with the feelings of being helpless or overwhelmed with where you are in life right now. No matter whether there is a dream or not, or what the life circumstances are about, it is important to first recognise, and be aware that we are under distress. For me, the bad dreams I had, make me realise how my experiences have affected my body and my mind. Even in my sleep, my mind is reminding me how I have been feeling right now due to what is happening. You might be able to recognise how stressed you are or how overwhelmed it is from the other aspects in life – maybe we start feeling like we have no energy to accomplish what we are needed to do; maybe we do not find joy in what we are doing anymore. There is quite a number of signs in which they let us know that we are stressed. We may not be able to face the core issues right away, or we may not be able to solve the problems, we have to first deal with our own feelings and thoughts.
Before we dwell into deeper miseries, remember to take a deep breath, take several deep breaths if you could. Be in a comfortable position, inhale through our nose, hold it for about 6 seconds, then exhale through our mouth, hold the position for another 6 seconds as well. Repeat the procedure, until we feel more at ease. Deep breathing helps us to relax our body, whereby not being in tension would ease our mind as well. Remember to take a moment to take deep breaths, and let’s trust the process that we eventually would be able to build up the strength to face our problem again. May we all be able to take a breath from our overwhelming thoughts, and face our future.
